Metadata: Schemas

At York Open Data we believe that opening up data is important, but providing some metadata among it – data about data,  isn’t any less important. That’s why the York Open Data team has decided to release internal schemas designed for the majority of the datasets present at yorkopendata.org. The whole can be accessed through this link. Hopefully this will help to get a clearer picture to those who wish to reuse our open data.

Further advantage of sharing schemas is that other organizations could potentially adopt the ones developed by CYC at the time of publishing their own data. Thus, we have also linked the aforementioned on Local Government Association’s webpage , a platform run by the LGA and focused on supporting Local Authorities on different aspects of opening up their data.

In order to keep together and organized all future metadata that York Open Data aims to publish, we have created a new topic on this platform, “Metadata”, which can be found on the home page within the rest of the categories.
