York Open Data Engagement Series – April 20th
The York Open Data Engagement Series invites entrepreneurs, IT professionals, designers and residents to get to know the new home for our local open data – yorkopendata.org – and to share experience on how to use open data. Even if you know nothing about data and are just curious, please come along! The event is a space to come, meet, and chat with the people helping York lead on open data. Stay for a talk and chat with the project manager and people behind the York Open Data platform.
The 2 hour event, to be held on April 20th,starts from 6 pm at the City of York Council West Offices, Station Rise, is part of the project aiming on delivering and promoting York’s first open data platform. It will feature the presentation of yorkopendata.org public domain platform and a series of talks by professionals working in the open data field as well as the technology that supports this. The talks will be chaired by Ian Cunningham, the open data lead at the City of York Council. The talks will be followed by a quick panel discussion on some of the key issues surrounding the use of open data and then a chance to ask specific questions about data availability and technology.
